Hastings Diesels, in partnership with Hastings Lions, is running a special express day trip to Hastings, in aid of The Observer’s Appeal for a New Ward at St. Michael’s Hospice, St. Leonards-on-Sea. They will be using Hastings Diesels’ restored train, complete with licensed buffet car.
Our train will start from Cannon Street in the City of London at 1000, stopping at London Bridge and Orpington, then running fast to Hastings.
During the journey Jane Fraser-Hay, Official Blue Badge Guide, will give a commentary on the route; on arrival a bus will be available to take travellers on an optional special guided tour of Hastings Old Town.
Hastings has a considerable number of excellent attractions, including the first Norman Castle with its oubliette and whispering dungeon; the beautiful Old Town which dates back to the 13th century; and the largest beach-launched fishing-fleet in Europe. Other places to visit include The Shipwreck Herigate Centre, Hastings Smugglers Caves, and Underwater World.
These are the final timings as received from Network Rail.
